Every woman deserves to be supported. Every mother deserves to be mothered. Childbirth is such a sacred and sensitive process, and having a doula as your guide can mean the difference between feeling unsure and uncomfortable and feeling confident, encouraged, and soothed. As a birth doula, I offer you informational, physical, and emotional support during the birth of your baby. In my more than 4 years as a doula, I’ve been honored to attend numerous births in all settings- homes, birth centers, hospital delivery rooms, and operating rooms. I use those experiences and many skills I’ve honed along the way to help you achieve a safe and satisfying birthing experience. When you contract my doula services, you receive the following care:

 

Prenatally:

• 1-3 prenatal meetings to discover and plan for your birth preferences
• phone, text, and email contact with me to ask questions or find resources
• assistance creating a detailed birth plan to share with your care provider and birth team
• access to my lending library of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding related media
• assistance creating a postpartum wellness plan
• 24/7 on-call availability beginning at 38 weeks gestation

 

Once Labor Begins:

• contact by phone or text to assess your labor pattern and offer support and suggestions for comfort and labor progress
• availability to join you whenever you feel you are ready
• continuous care once I join you; I will offer physical support and comfort measures, information to help you make the best decisions for you and your baby, and encouragement
• breastfeeding support and help getting settled in during the immediate postpartum period (the “golden hour” after you deliver)

 

Postpartum:

• phone, text, and email support to answer questions and validate parenting in the immediate days following birth
• lactation support and/or referrals to local experts
• a postpartum meeting to answer questions and process your birth
• a record of my notes and reflections on your birth

 

Doula Service Packages are customizable; therefore, pricing varies, depending on options chosen. The fee for the complete package, including all aspects of care specified above, is $900.
